Updates to your Weekly Payment Report

Via fully support the TLC’s efforts to ensure that every driver in New York is fairly compensated for their hard work. Please review the details below to understand how it will look in your pay report.

What’s new in my weekly pay report?

The TLC’s driver earnings rule requires that drivers earn $17.22/hour + $0.631/mile (or, $0.818/mile if driving a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle) after Via’s service fees for Blue hours. We’ll calculate the miles you drove for each and every hour, and add any additional payments to your weekly pay report as Blue Earnings Adjustment.

So, in-app rates are not my final earnings?

Many of our in-app hourly rates already meet these standards, but for those that may previously have fallen short, you’ll see an additional payment – noted as your Blue Earnings Adjustment.

We are committed to continuing to provide transparency into your earnings.

FAQs

How does this affect my payment for rides in Online mode?

Your earnings for each trip in Online mode will comply with the TLC’s per-trip formula. You will see the breakdown and details on your trip receipt.

Will I ever earn less than the rate offered in-app?

Your earnings will never be less than what’s shown in your in-app rates. As we don’t know the total mileage you’ll be driving during your Blue hours ahead of time, these additional earnings are not reflected in your in-app rates. But we’ll calculate the miles you drove for each and every hour, and add any additional payments to your weekly pay report Blue earnings.

Are Wheelchair Accessible (WAV) rides compensated in the same way?

The TLC’s driver earnings rule requires that drivers earn $17.22/hour + $0.818/mile if driving a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle after Via’s service fees for Blue hours.
